A 5G cellular failover that keeps you online when your wired connection drops—including when the wired connection is ours. Plugs into a UniFi PoE port and switches over on its own. Needs a data plan and a usable cell signal at your address.

A small 5G modem that plugs into a UniFi PoE port and sits there doing nothing until your connection drops. When it does, it takes over automatically, and hands back when the main link returns.
We will be straight about what this is. It is insurance against an outage, and some of those outages will be ours. We would rather sell you something that keeps you working than pretend our network never has a bad day. If you are running a business, working a remote job, or depending on telehealth, an hour offline costs more than this unit does.
Two things to check before you buy, and we would rather you heard them from us than found out afterwards. It needs a UniFi PoE port to plug into — the UniFi Express 7 does not have one, so you would need a UniFi switch or a PoE injector alongside it. And it needs a usable cell signal at your address, which up here is emphatically not a given. Call us before you spend anything and we will tell you what we know about coverage at your location.

- Anyone who genuinely cannot afford to be offline
- Homes already running UniFi gear with a PoE port to spare
- Addresses with a decent cell signal — ask us and we'll check
Not the right fit if…
- Addresses with no usable cell coverage, which is a real problem in parts of our area
- Anyone unwilling to carry a data plan on top of the hardware cost
- A UniFi Express 7 on its own — it has no PoE output to power this
