When the Power Goes Out, We Stay On
Grid power on this mountain is not a given. Our network is built for that—batteries at every site, generators behind most of them, and a second way off the mountain when the first one breaks.
Six Hours of Battery, Minimum
Every site on our network carries battery backup rated for at least six hours. We upgraded across the board after an extended outage showed us where the old limits were—and we wrote about it at the time, rather than quietly fixing it.
Generators Measured in Days
More than 80% of our customers are served by sites with generator power that runs for days, not hours. Our Tecuya Mountain backbone runs off-grid year round.
Two Ways Off the Mountain
Two carrier fiber uplinks, on opposite ends of the mountain. When the fiber between Frazier Park and Pine Mountain Club failed, we rerouted wirelessly through Tecuya and the PMC Clubhouse stayed online.

One honest caveat: when the grid goes down our towers stay up, but your router still needs power at the house. A small battery is usually all it takes—we stock the ones we trust, or read how to size one yourself.
