The same idea as the HomePower, with a 200 W solar panel in the box. That is the difference between a battery that runs down on day two and one that keeps going as long as the sun keeps coming up.
We wrote about the June 2025 outage that cost us 30 to 40 percent of our customers once batteries ran down. This is the household version of the fix we made to our own sites.
What it will actually run
| Load | Draw | Estimated runtime |
|---|---|---|
| Your router only | 10 W | 91 hrs |
| Our radio + your router | 25 W | 36 hrs |
| Add a laptop | 75 W | 12 hrs |
| Add a TV | 150 W | 6.1 hrs |
| Add a small fridge | 300 W | 3.0 hrs |
Good for
- Multi-day outages, which this mountain does get
- Properties where a generator is impractical or unwelcome
- Anyone who wants to top the battery back up without the grid
Not the right fit if…
- Shaded lots or deep tree cover, where 200 W will underperform
- Anyone who only needs a few hours of runtime — the HomePower costs less
